Navigating Challenges and Embracing Opportunities: A Conversation with Julia Spicer

In agriculture we often have husband and wife duos on the farm, but not so often in Agribusiness! So we're stoked to have had the opportunity to chat to co-CEO's - David and Natalie Egerton-Warbuton from Agrimaster. Together, they established the software development company in 2001 and have since began raising their family in Western Australia. 

“It was a three to five-year plan but we’ve turned around and bloody love it! We’re not ready to go back [to Eastern Australia]. We have our friends, a really good support network and we haven’t looked back.”

“We’re actually looking to buy a place and set up stumps!”

"My grandfather would say to me, ‘Business is people, people is the thing that is harder to control. You build a machine and that machine will do what you programmed it to do, and it'll do that same job day in day out. People aren't just machines’.

In my career, I've been my biggest roadblock, that lack of self confidence.

“I can see the actual benefit of the stuff we do there. So it just gives me that warm and fuzzy. so as far as I’m concerned, Yeah I am. I’m part of the agriculture industry in a potentially different way than others have done before”

There’s this idea that to be successful, you’ve got to get yourself a degree, but for Callan Daley, failing a maths subject a few times was the stepping stone to much greater things.

At 24, Callan is the Business Development Lead for MEQ, a start-up that creates technology that measures meat-eating quality, and this year has been jetting across the country and world with his work.

We got to know Ben Dwyer while filming This Is Aussie Ag - Harvest Road.  His career in Australian agriculture is very cool and he’s an all-round top fella.

As the Chief Operating Officer of Agribusiness, he's a seasoned executive having led major Australian agribusiness operations.
